I’m a traveler and a writer. In an ideal world, I always combine those two.
I recently moved to Denver from Oklahoma City, where I was the Lifestyle Editor for the Oklahoma Gazette. Now I’m officially a lady of leisure. Wait, that’s not quite right. Now I’m trying to give freelance writing and editing a go while also dedicating more time to creative writing.
My travel writing has been published in Travelgirl, Home & Away and Oklahoma Home & Away. My Oklahoma Gazette articles were twice recognized (2010 and 2012) by the Oklahoma chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. I’ve had short stories published in a number of anthologies, the latest of which was May 2012’s “Prom Dates to Die For.” On the ever-so-scary novel front, I have three completed YA manuscripts and am querying agents. I’m a member of SCBWI and an editorial assistant at Month9Books.
Although I’m originally from everyone’s favorite mitten-shaped state (that’d be Michigan for those who failed elementary geography), I have been slowly moving west with my husband and our two cats. Maybe I’ll be living in a hobbit hole in New Zealand in five years.
